SHAQ ROLAND
Wide Receiver, Lexington High School
Class of 2012
Roland was one of the most exciting offensive players in the state for two years (his junior and senior years) and was a starter his freshman and sophomore season as well. He started his freshman season as a safety for the Wildcats and made a move to quarterback for his sophomore season under Coach Allen Sitterly. Upon Coach Scott Earley's arrival at Lexington, Roland moved to his natural position - wide receiver - and began electrifying the crowds with lethal elusiveness and the ability to score from anywhere on the field at any time. He captured the Mr. Football award for the South Carolina his senior year and was a Shrine Bowl representative.
Roland signed with the South Carolina Gamecocks and became an impact player during his sophomore season (2013). Roland comes in at No. 10 instead of a higher position primarily because his post-high school career is still in its infancy.
