Calhoun Falls head coach Chris Watts has several prospects to watch at his program. He recently spoke with PalmettoPreps.com to break down his group, and we did additional research to bring to our subscribers.

2021 class

Omar Cade
A 5-foot-10, 260-pounder, Cade has factored in at offensive guard, defensive tackle, and defensive end during his career.

"He’s probably for the last two years, the pound for pound strongest player we’ve had on our team," said Watts. "He’s a natural athlete and really quick as a pulling guard. He’s kind of the gem of the senior class."

Kalik Bryant
A 6-foot-2, 175-pounder, Bryant has a lightning-quick first step off the ball. Basketball is his first love, but if he focused on football and filled out his frame, he has big potential.

"He just goes out there and plays off athleticism. He makes plays off pure athleticism," said Watts.

Watts recounted how, in a game against Ware Shoals, Bryant chased down a running play from the backside on first down, made a tackle for loss on 2nd down to his side, and then sacked the quarterback on third down to force a punt, making all three plays on a drive.

2022 class players to watch:

Jaquavis Bryant
A "Swiss Army Knife" type who is a bowling ball type running back. He's 5-9, 235 pounds and also could profile as a linebacker.

Ty Moon
A 5-10, 220-pounder, Moon has played quarterback, running back, linebacker, and defensive end. One area coach has told Calhoun Falls Moon has a chance to, if he can keep learning the position and put it together, to be one of the top quarterbacks in the state.

Marquice Turman
Watts says he's likely the fastest player on the team, although he'll need to continue to get bigger at 5-9, 140 pounds or so.

"He's super dynamic after the catch," said Watts. He plays receiver and corner and we're going to move him to the wing/slot-back. Anytime the ball hits his hands he can take it to the house."

Others:

Blaze Carey is a rising sophomore who will play the OLB/S hybrid this season and earned a starting spot the last game of the year. He's a competitor.

The rising freshman group features four players that Watts plans on playing on varsity and likely as starters. Here are notes on each:

Camden Durant – 6-2, 225 pounds. Will play LB position, FB, OT. Built like a DE.

Daquan Lewis – Best athlete in the school. 6’1, 165. Runs 4.8. Track, baseball, football. May play QB but a more natural CB and WR. He'll be the starting ace pitcher for baseball team.

Jamari Norman
– 6’1, 165. Play FS and wingback.

Devin Burrden – LB – 5’9, 185. Hard worker.
