It's not a big secret that South Carolina is a heavy favorite here. These two (Shaq Davidson and L.J. Peak) have grown up together and have been talking about going to college together for years. They have played on the same AAU team but, due to circumstances (injuries, LJ''s tranfer) they have not been on the hardwood together as Indians. If you remember last year, I said that L.J. would be back in Gaffney for his senior year.
Now, the two are going to announce. I would think that South Carolina is the obvious choice for a couple of reasons:
a. They both want their parents/grandparents to be able to watch them in college. Trust me, Shaq's grandma isn't going to make a trip to Tallahassee every week.
b. Shaq is a long time Gamecock fan.
Georgetown believes they are in the mix for Peak because he named them in the final three, but that ain't going to happen.
Florida State, on the other hand, is a team that I believe could make a push. They come on strong for both, knowing that getting one of them would help with the other. I wouldn't discount them totally out of the picture but I say South Carolina is the pick.
